The “Quilts of Valor” organizations’ mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. Several members of our Umpqua Valley Quilters’ Guild (UVQG) are also members of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. They spearhead the making andawarding of Quilts of Valor (QOV) to military veterans in our community. The Guild members also make and give Patriotic Quilts to community veterans when the designated quilt might not meet the QOV award guidelines. Both Patriotic Quilts and Quilts of Valor recognize and honor veterans' sacrificial service to our country and our community.
