This class is an introduction to creating scenic landscape quilts. The landscape projects are small, simple, and fused, resulting in a quick, easy project. Once the fabric is chosen, these mini quilts go together quickly and can then be finished with borders to make a small wall hanging measuring approximately 10" x 12" (smaller pattern) or 14" x 20 (larger pattern); both sizes are included in the pattern. The focus of the class will be on using fabrics creatively to get marvelous effects in pictorial quilts. For me, (Helene) this is part of the joy in making landscape quilts; each quilt will be a new experience based on the colors and textures you choose, and the variety is endless.
For those not wanting to bring their own fabrics to work with, there are kits available for the smaller sizes of Rocky Coast, Serene Marsh, Alpine Lake, and Mt. Hood. In keeping with the focus of the class, each kit is unique. Kits are $25 each, payable to Helene at the class.
